I have some really good memories of this event.

The Horror (and fun) of Bad Movie Night

By Brittany Kemp/BoroOnline.com

EDINBORO -- Do you want something fun to do on your otherwise drab Tuesday nights? Do you enjoy mocking train wrecks of the film industry? If so, maybe you should consider giving Bad Movie Night a shot.

As its name suggests, Bad Movie Night is all about the rather forgettable cinematic cheese-fests of yesteryear. With titles such as “Destroy All Planets” and “I Married a Monster From Outer Space,” this isn't exactly Oscar-worthy fare here.

You may have seen the eye-catching posters, decorating the halls as you go to class. Each week, a different student creates a new one for the week's feature.

It has attracted a devoted following who go not to marvel at the techniques and storyline but to snicker at the idea that at one point these movies were taken seriously.

“I go to Bad Movie Night because, first of all, it's entertaining. It shows you what not to do when making a movie, and mainly it's something to do on Tuesday nights,” frequent patron Nader Bouberhan said.

For more information, you can go at 9 p.m. on most Tuesdays to room 119 at Doucette Hall and see Bad Movie Night for yourself.
