Job Blog Inaugural Post

Hi all-

Taking a hiatus from my usual posting-my-writing MO; back in the day, when I was struggling to pinpoint myself professionally, I had a blog devoted to my job search and ongoing efforts to stabilize myself.

When things calmed down for me, I deleted the blog. It was null and void, and the traffic was so dismal it didn't make sense to carry on with it.

Because of the state of things in the world, I am bringing my "job blog" back for the near future. I aim to gather jobs that are hiring in here and compile job search tips (esp. in regards to resumes and cover letters). I'll admit it's a bullshit thing to have to think about when the world feels so life and death and lots of us are considering the mortality of ourselves or the people that we love, but it does seem necessary to some degree as we spiral toward a recession.

This is a work in progress, and if there's anything you'd find the most useful, get at me - kemp.britt@gmail.com

Job Opportunities
A heck of a whole lot of remote jobs (Google Doc) - A quick glance shows it's a lot of software-type jobs, but I did see positions in accounting and an opening for a copywriter, too. So worth a look - the person who originally put this together is amazing, and there's a link for remote workers to network a bit toward the bottom.

Scripted is seeking freelance technical writers - Stress that this seems like something you need technical chops for, so heads-up on that note. Their ad calls out "developers" and "scripters" in particular.

Miscellaneous industries and organizations hiring right now - This Fast Company article is a kind of a hodge-podge, which it should be given the circumstances. I've also heard grocery stores and Amazon are seeking more people currently.

That's it for today - I am hoping to be able to highlight 3 - 5 needs per post, which should be happening once to twice a week.

Take care,

Britt
